Updated October 23, 2026. Groups planning a night out, an airport run or a wedding in Nashville usually choose between three vehicles: a luxury SUV, a Sprinter limo and a stretch limousine. Here is how they compare.
The short answer
Up to six people with luggage: an SUV. Seven to fourteen people, or any group that needs to stay together with bags: a Sprinter. Up to sixteen people for an arrival or a send-off, with little luggage: the stretch limousine.
| Vehicle | Seats | Best for | Hourly rate |
|---|---|---|---|
| SUV: Cadillac Escalade, GMC Denali, Lincoln Navigator | 6 | Couples, executives, families with bags, airport runs | $125 |
| SUV: Chevrolet Suburban, Ford Expedition | 6 | Families and groups who need the cargo space | $95 |
| Mercedes Sprinter or Executive Sprinter | 14 | Wedding parties, bachelorette groups, teams, guest shuttles | $175 to $195 |
| Cadillac Escalade stretch limousine | 16 | Grand arrivals, send-offs, prom, celebrations | By call |
SUV limo vs Sprinter limo
This is the comparison most groups actually face. An SUV seats six, and the ride is quieter and more private, which suits a couple, a small family or an executive. Once the group passes six, one Sprinter usually beats two SUVs: everyone rides together, there is one pickup and one arrival time instead of two, and one Sprinter costs less per hour than two SUVs. The Sprinter also has a taller doorway and a flat floor, so it is easier with a wedding gown, car seats or a lot of luggage.
Sprinter limo vs stretch limo
The stretch seats sixteen in wraparound leather seating facing inward, with a bar counter and mood lighting: the classic limousine look for an entrance or a send-off. The Sprinter seats fourteen in forward-facing theater seats with more legroom per person, higher ceilings and large windows, and it is the better vehicle for moving people over a longer ride. The stretch carries very little luggage, so it is not the vehicle for an airport run.
Venue access
A stretched Escalade has a long wheelbase and a wide turning radius. It is fine at hotels, event centers and venues with a circular drive or a paved lot. Many barns, farms, vineyards and historic estates around Franklin, Brentwood and rural Murfreesboro have gravel drives, narrow gates or tight turnarounds, where a Sprinter or an SUV is the safer choice. Tell dispatch the venue when you book and we will tell you whether the stretch can reach the door.
Weddings: book the right mix
Many couples book two vehicles: the stretch limousine or an Escalade for the couple's arrival and grand exit, and a Sprinter for the bridal party and guest shuttles in between. For the full wedding service see our Nashville wedding limo service page.
